ACTATE held a special ceremony at Canberra College to celebrate all the writers who submitted stories in the 2019 competition. We were happy to welcome more than 170 students, parents, family members and teachers, and presented 12 major awards and 91 Achievement Awards.

Student Speaker

The student speaker this year was Julia Murphy, who won the Judges’ Award in the Year 9 & 10 Category. She gave an excellent speech about ‘The Importance of Creative Writing’.

Judges’ Comments

The Judges’ comments were presented in a speech by Dennis Flannery, who gave a wonderful overview of the fantastic entries received this year.
